Back when Diablo III had their launch issues, Maxis said that they weren’t worried about suffering the same fate.
Oops.
Now, Bungie is saying that they’re not worried about server issues when Destiny launches.
“This isn’t our first rodeo,” the developer said. “Bungie is no stranger to anxious mobs of players who rush home after a midnight launch and put our best-laid plans to the test.”
That may be true, but Destiny is going to be a persistent online game. One can hope that Bungie’s experience and Activision’s pockets will lead up to a smooth launch experience. Worst case scenario, Activision can just ask their friend Blizzard for some advice.
Destiny is due out in 2014.
