Candy Crush Saga Finally Settles It’s Legal Disputes

Candy Crush Saga Finally Settles It’s Legal Disputes

It seems like King, the creators of Candy Crush Saga , have finally decided to stop going to court with anyone who ever uses the term Candy or Saga in their name. Their latest dispute was with Albert Ransom, the creator of CandySwipe . They filed a trademark dispute with him, due to possible “confusion” between which IP is which. However, now it seems like both games will be able to get along. Ransom recently said on his website:

“I am happy to announce that I have amicably resolved my dispute with King over my CandySwipe trademark and that I am withdrawing my opposition to their mark and they are withdrawing their counterclaim against mine. I have learned that they picked the CANDY CRUSH name before I released my game and that they were never trying to take my game away. Both our games can continue to coexist without confusing players.”

Candy Crush also settled it’s disputes with Stoic, creators of The Banner Saga , last month. So at least that chapter of silliness in the world of game development is over with.
