Capcom’s Starting a Mario Party in Arcades

Capcom’s Starting a Mario Party in Arcades

Ready to pay to steal all of your friends’ stars? You might get that opportunity. Capcom is making Mario Party Mysterious Challenge World, a Mario Party arcade machine based upon the iconic series from Nintendo. It allows six players to go through a board game, trying to beat their friends down.

In terms of content, the Mario Party arcade is very similar to the source material. People choose a character from the series to represent them. They then use the touch panel in front of them to play the board game, mini-games, and handle the boss fights. No word on how much it’ll cost, but probably a lot. We’ll know more after it makes its February 19 debut in Japan.

This isn’t the first arcade machine based on a Nintendo property from Capcom. In 2014, it created a Luigi’s Mansion machine, which is currently in a Dave & Busters’ test location in Illinois. Also, Mario Kart and Pokken Tournament machines have been released by Bandai Namco. Who knows what other Nintendo properties could come back to arcades?
