Soul Hackers is the second game in Atlus’ Devil Summoner series. It was originally released on November 13, 1997, for the Sega Saturn before it was ported to the Sony PlayStation two years later. This enhanced PlayStation version added new locations, items, dungeons, and even quality-of-life features. The game was remade for the Nintendo 3DS and that version has even more new features. Unfortunately, the newest version of the game didn’t review well with fans and critics. Many fans of the series consider the PlayStation version the definitive way to play.

Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers Premise
Soul Hackers introduce players to the setting of Amami City, a city fully connected through an electronic network. The player is a young man who is a part of a group of hackers called the Spookies. Gameplay is similar to other Atlus titles, especially the Shin Megami Tensei series. Players will navigate the dungeons in a first-person view while solving puzzles and fighting demons.

- Hitomi Tono: A shy girl who is very skilled but struggles with her self-confidence.
- Nemissa: A female demon suffering from amnesia, and one of the most important characters in Soul Hackers.
