DMC HD Collection Dated, Downloadable?

DMC HD Collection Dated, Downloadable?

None

Dante, much like Solid Snake and that horned kid from ICO before him, is getting an HD re-release. It’s been the vogue thing of late, with Kratos leading the charge, followed by a Persian prince, Sam Fisher and Sly Cooper. The only question regarding the Devil May Cry HD Collection has been “when?”

The answer: April 3, 2012, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Those who have large hard drives, however, and aren’t interested in picking up physical re-releases of games you may already have on your shelf, as pretty as the upgraded editions may be, might wonder whether these titles if the DMC collection will follow in the downloadable footsteps of Sly Cooper and the Prince of Persia series. Christian Svensson said, on the Capcom-Unity forum, that “It’s on disc and will at some point post-retail launch also be available digitally (as most retail games are on Games on Demand/PSN).”

Players can expect the original Devil May Cry in their bundles, as well as the Special Edition variant of Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, which introduced Vergil as a playable character for the first time and, in some ways, toned down the original version’s absurd difficulty. There’s also a third game in there. A Devil May Cry 2, apparently. I dunno. I don’t remember it that well.
