Dragon Quest X Confirmed for NX

Dragon Quest X Confirmed for NX

Last July Square Enix mentioned during a Dragon Quest event that Dragon Quest X and XI would be coming to Nintendo’s NX. Pretty soon after those comments were made, Square Enix took them back. The company said that the presenter had gone off of his script and that no official confirmation was being made. I’m sure Nintendo probably had something to do with that, but for Nintendo and old-school Enix fans like myself, that slip-up was a good sign.

Today we learned that it might not be so risky to get our hopes up. Dragon Quest X producer Yosuke Saito mentioned in an interview with Famitsu (via NintendoLife ) that his team is preparing for an influx of new players that will reach its peak when the PS4 and NX versions of the game are released. Dragon Quest X is a MMORPG that came out originally for the Wii, and has since received three major updates and transitioned to the Wii U. A fourth version is currently in the works for the PS4 and NX, but we still don’t know if the game will make it over to the West. The fact that DQ VII and VIII will soon be released in the US for 3DS is a good sign, but we’ll have to wait and hope for DQ X and XI .
