Duke Nukem Voices His Critical Displeasure

Duke Nukem Voices His Critical Displeasure

None

Jon St. John is a prolific video game voice actor with credits on over 40 titles over his fifteen-year career. His most infamous role, however, might well be the first one he ever did back in 1996. Jon St. John is the voice behind Duke Nukem. He’s the first thing you hear when you start up a game of Duke Nukem 3D, and he reprised his role as the 90s cultural icon for the newest title, Duke Nukem Forever.

Jon St. John is also not enthused with critics of the long-in-development first-person shooter. “I have no comments regarding bad reviews by clueless critics,” he said, “they seem to want to compare Duke Nukem Forever to Call of Duty and other FPSes and they are missing the point. My thoughts about Duke Nukem Forever: it freakin’ ROCKS!”

Entertainment is highly subjective across all media, and, while the bulk of the critical body seems to disagree with his assessment, sales data for Duke Nukem Forever appears to be solidly on Jon St. John’s side.
