If today were two days ago, I might be telling you that the first paid expansion for the easy to pick up but hard to master Nintendo shooter, Splatoon 2 , would be out in July. If it were yesterday, I’d be telling you it’s coming out today. But it’s today, so I’m telling you that the expansion is out on June 13, 2018 and you should be playing it.
The expansion is called, aptly enough, Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion . It is a single-player mode containing 80+ missions. The expansion stars a new Octoling character, called Agent 8, who works her way from an underground locale to the surface world of Inkopolis. Playing through the expansion will unlock characters and gear for multiplayer.
The expansion is selling on Nintendo’s eShop for $19.99. Producer, Hisashi Nogami has also promised that the development team will continue to release new content for the title throughout the year. There are also new Splatoon Octoling amiibo coming out later in the year, and characters from the game will be included in the upcoming Smash Bros. game. It’s a good year for Splatoon fans.
