Fallout 4’s Dogmeat Takes a Top Honor at the 2016 World Dog Awards

Fallout 4’s Dogmeat Takes a Top Honor at the 2016 World Dog Awards

There’s a World Dog Awards. Did you know this was a thing? I didn’t. But then, it makes sense. This was only the second year they were held and aired on The CW. People vote ahead of time for their favorite media darlings, and then they’re able to watch all the cute puppies on TV. This year, there was a Top Video Game Dog category, and Fallout 4’ s Dogmeat won!

Well, not exactly Dogmeat. The 2016 World Dog Award went to River, the German Shepherd, upon which Dogmeat was based. She belongs to Joel Burgess, the Fallout 4 Lead Level Designer at Bethesda Game Studios and did motion capture for the character.

Bethesda celebrated the win on Twitter recently, despite River having won the award back in January 2016. I think we can definitely say River was a very good girl.
