Final Fantasy XIV Getting “Reborn”

Final Fantasy XIV Getting “Reborn”

None

After a rather, shall we say, rocky launch, MMO Final Fantasy XIV was announced to be going back to the drawing board last October. The results of those various tweaks and overhauls, previously known as Version 2.0, will now be called Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Square Enix announced today.

The publisher says that A Realm Reborn has been “rebuilt from the ground up,” and will feature “a new world to explore” and a new “storyline to experience.”Not many specifics about the relaunch’s changes were given, but Square Enix does say that the game will focus on the “core concept of rebirth.”

“Since announcing our plans for the future of the title last October, we have been working tirelessly to include all of the elements that we have promised in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn,” said producer and director Naoki Yoshida. “This new title not only becomes a symbol of a completely new Final Fantasy XIV, but also marks the beginning of a new stage as the latest title in the Final Fantasy series. I hope you’re looking forward to it!”

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be coming to PlayStation 3 and PC. No specific launch dates were provided.
