Final Fantasy XV has been in development a long while now. It was even once part of a Final Fantasy XIII project and was titled Final Fantasy Versus XIII. While there is still no word on a release date, it does seem we’re getting much closer.
Speaking in a Japanese forum, programmer Satoshi Kitade has revealed two major things about the status of the game. First, the game is now playable from start to finish and second, the first half of the game is completed. At this point, the team is primarily focusing on polishing the game up.
An official release date will be revealed at an event in March of 2016. Square Enix says the game is still expected to be released at some point next year.
