Fortnite Players are Building Racetracks in Playground Mode

In case you weren’t aware, a limited-time mode called Playground has been creating quite a buzz in Epic Games’ Fortnite: Battle Royale . Playground is a mode that lets up to four players just goof around on the map for an hour, after which point the storm closes in and kicks everyone out. In this mode, you can practice your skills, explore the map, and even push what’s possible in Fortnite to its limit. Of course, the latter is producing some real results, including Mario Kart -inspired racetracks players have built within those time constraints.

Using the Shopping Cart item, players are able to leverage Fortnite ’s building mechanics to create functioning race tracks, allowing players to coast along the tracks, even utilizing items like boost pads to make it extra authentic. Of course, plenty of twists and turns come without guardrails, meaning players can fall off the track and plummet to their deaths in true Mario Kart fashion. Of course, in Playground mode you respawn until the storm kills everyone, so it’s all in good fun.

A particularly fun example can be found on Reddit, from a user who edited footage together with Mario Kart sounds and music.
