Forza Horizon 5 is a racing game developed by Playground Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. As part of the Forza series, it was released for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, proving to be a key title for the Xbox brand.
Forza Horizon games have always been reviewed well by critics, and 5 is no exception. The game holds a 92 on Metacritic, indicating universal acclaim. While originally reported sales figures sat at 10 million, its presence on Xbox Game Pass has taken its total player count to over 30 million. With this in mind, it’s hard to consider Forza Horizon 5 anything other than an enormous success.
Forza Horizon 5 Premise
Forza Horizon 5 sees you take part in races across an open-world rendition of Mexico. This map features numerous biomes, from jungles to beaches, and even an active volcano! While you can just spend your time with the game driving around freely, most players go on to complete the campaign mode or compete against other players in multiplayer races.
As with other Forza games, vehicle customization takes center stage here. You can create custom tunes, install full body kits, and do engine swaps to make sure your car is exactly the way you want it to be. The dynamic weather system complicates this, as you’ve got to ensure your vehicles are drivable in as many conditions as possible.
On top of the campaign and multiplayer, there are a few extra modes for players to explore in Forza Horizon 5. There’s Horizon Arcade, which gives you and other players a set of mini-games to complete across the entire map. The Eliminator battle royale makes its return from previous iterations, too. All in all, there’s plenty to keep you busy in Forza Horizon 5.
Forza Horizon 5 Main Characters
If there’s one thing Forza Horizon 5 is definitely guilty of, it’s skimping on the story. The game doesn’t really have main characters to speak of, instead allowing you to create your own protagonist for the gameplay. It’s not a huge issue – it’s a driving game, after all. Still, it would’ve been nice to see a bigger focus on the main characters, to give players someone to properly relate to.
However, the game does allow for extensive customization of the playable character. Their appearance, clothing, and even pronouns are able to be changed prior to the beginning of a save. Even if the characters don’t do a lot, the wide array of options is nice to have.
Forza Horizon 5 Titles in the Series
Ever since its inception in 2005, the Forza series has been a staple of the racing genre. On top of this, it gave Xbox its own competition to the Gran Turismo franchise, and for many has now even surpassed it. In the early years, Forza Motorsport was just another traditional racing game, taking place on professional tracks in the real world. However, the beginning of the Horizon games introduced casual racing in an open world. There was room for both though, and the series continued to alternate between Motorsport and Horizon titles.
Here are all the games to date in the Forza series:
- Forza Motorsport (2005)
- Forza Motorsport 2 (2007)
- Forza Motorsport 3 (2009)
- Forza Motorsport 4 (2011)
- Forza Horizon (2012)
- Forza Motorsport 5 (2013)
- Forza Horizon 2 (2014)
- Forza Motorsport 6 (2015)
- Forza Horizon 3 (2016)
- Forza Motorsport 7 (2017)
- Forza Horizon 4 (2018)
- Forza Horizon 5 (2021)
- Forza Motorsport (2023)
Forza Horizon 5 Cheat Codes
Sadly, you’re not going to find any cheat codes for Forza Horizon 5. Car games are usually ripe for traditional cheat codes, but unfortunately that isn’t the case here. However, there are a couple of exploits you can use to get an advantage in-game. They take a little more work, but they’re a great alternative.
Forza Horizon 5 Infinite Money Glitch
To do the Forza Horizon 5 infinite money glitch, you’ll first need a ton of perk points. Then, go and purchase as many 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS cars as possible, costing 80,000 credits each. Head to their Car Mastery skill trees, and unlock Super Wheelspins using perk points. Unlocking these Super Wheelspins will make back most of your money, and you can even sell back the original car to pretty much guarantee a profit. You can repeat these steps as many times as you want.
Forza Horizon 5 AFK Infinite XP Exploit
For this glitch, you first want to head into your in-game Difficulty settings and change them as follows:
- Drivatar Difficulty: Unbeatable
- Driving Assists Preset: Custom
- Braking: Assisted
- Steering: Auto-Steering
- Traction Control: On
- Stability Control: On
- Shifting: Automatic
- Driving Line: Full
- Damage & Tire Wear: None
- Rewind: On
Next, head to the Eventlab, and scroll through the most popular races of all time. Search for anything that resembles “XP Farm” or “AFK XP.” Then, start one of these races and hold down your accelerate button. You can do this yourself, and use a rubber band on your controller. Either way, the above settings should ensure that your car drives itself using the in-game assists.
Forza Horizon 5 Cheat Code FAQs
Does Forza Horizon 5 Have Codes?
While we’ve already established that Forza Horizon 5 doesn’t have cheat codes, it does in fact have share codes. These codes are used to share player-made content between the community, so are great whenever you want more content from the game.
Are There Third-Party Cheats in Forza Horizon 5?
Of course. As with just about any online game, there are third-party cheats that allow you to gain an advantage over other players. These always come with risks, though. Playground Games are always on the lookout for players doing this, and will just ban them from online play.
We certainly wouldn’t recommend it. It ruins the experience for other plays, and comes with unnecessary risks for your own account. A lose-lose, we’d say.
