Game Journalism Vet Launches Kickstarter For Freelance How-To Guide

None

Professional freelance games journalist Nathan Meunier has announced a Kickstarter campaign for Up Up Down Down Left WRITE, a new “how-to guide for freelancers” that he is penning.

Meunier, a professional freelancer for over a decade, claims that his goal is to make the book “as comprehensive as possible and pack it full of info that’s useful both to newcomers looking to break into freelance game journalism and veterans who’ve already been at it for awhile.”

The Vermont-based writer says he’s spent the about the past year working on the project, and that he is currently around two-thirds of the way done with it.

Topics covered in the work will include how to effectively craft pitches, working with PR and editors, determining pay rates, and generally improving your work, among others.

The Kickstarter currently has 26 days left to go, and has made $1,303 of its $7,000 goal at the time of this writing.

(Full disclosure: Nathan is a former contributor to Cheat Code Central.)
