Ghostbusters and Brutal Legend May Be Getting Canceled

None

The merger of Vivendi and Activision will undoubtedly bring gamers a lot of excellent titles in the coming years. Unfortunately, in the short-term, many games that were currently in development are likely getting the hook.

Activision announced today they will be cultivating the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro franchises, but games such as Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Brutal Legend, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, and World in Conflict: Soviet Assault are getting canceled.

However, this may not be entirely set in stone. A representative for Ghostbusters has already come out in defense of the title, stating that it will not be getting the axe. This seems to make some sense because the title has received an awful lot of press and has generated more than its fair share of buzz. It seems unlikely that high quality title such as the aforementioned would not be, at the very least, published by another company.
