Halo is “all Focused on Xbox One” Right Now

In a brief discussion with Eurogamer on Friday, June 20, Halo 4 developer 343 Industries’ general manager Bonnie Ross revealed that the studio is indeed listening to Halo fans calling for a PC release of more Halo titles, but right now the developer is “ all focused on Xbox One.

Right now we are focused on Xbox One, ” Bonnie Ross told Eurogamer.

When approached about previous Halo PC releases, such as the original Halo: Combat Evolved and its sequel Halo 2 , Ross acknowledged that Halo used to also be a PC title, but primarily 343 Industries is focused on Microsoft’s Xbox One.

You’re right, ” Ross admitted. ” We’ve been on PC before, and Dan [Ayoub, 343 Industries’ executive producer] has had games like Halo: Spartan Assault on there. We’re listening to the PC fans, but right now this is all focused on Xbox One.

Meanwhile, on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries’ franchise community manager Andy Dudynsky revealed that the recently announced Halo: The Master Chief Collection (which is touted to run at 1080p, 60 frames per second ) won’t be making its way to the Xbox 360 because the last-gen console simply won’t be able to support the bundle.

We are dedicated to bringing a full and fun experience to Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One, providing you with dedicated servers, a unified interface, increased visual fidelity, and gameplay running at 60fps, ” he explained in an Q&A.

We do not have any plans to bring the game to Xbox 360 as the game size, enhanced features and technical specifications simply can’t support it, ” he added.

So, at least for the foreseeable future, Halo titles from here on out will be releasing exclusively on the Xbox One. Here’s hoping that PC and Xbox 360 versions come around at some point later down the line.
