Hitman Could Have Two More Seasons of Content Lined Up

Regardless of what you think about Hitman ‘s episodic format, it looks like it’s here to stay. We’re used to seeing Telltale’s games released in parts – games like Tales From the Borderlands and Batman – but it’s still highly unusual for major AAA releases to come out in parts. It wasn’t without a bit of fan backlash that Square Enix and IO interactive announced that the latest Hitman would be released in episodic format, across six parts. The game has done very well, though, and it looks like we may be in for additional seasons once this premier season concludes.

That’s according to the official Hitman Twitter account anyway. Nothing has been officially announced from Square Enix yet. An eager fan tweeted @Hitman asking if there would be a second season, or any additional content after the first season wraps up. Surprisingly, whoever is in charge of the Hitman Twitter account responded with some pretty significant news: “Of course, our plan is to have three seasons. Although Season Two hasn’t been confirmed yet.” Didn’t see that coming, did we?! Three seasons of content is a pretty huge undertaking, and it’s a lot to ask of players assuming that each season will cost $60. Whenever we hear word of a Season Two confirmation or pricing details, we’ll let you know.
