Hulu Plus Finally Coming To The Wii

Hulu Plus Finally Coming To The Wii

None

A recent press release by Hulu and Nintendo of America has announced that the two will be teaming up to bring Hulu Plus to the Wii.

According to the press release: “Wii owners can subscribe to Hulu Plus for $7.99 a month and instantly stream current-season hit TV shows such as Family Guy , Glee , New Girl , Vampire Diaries , The Office , The Biggest Loser , and Modern Family , as well as full back seasons of hit shows like Community and Grey’s Anatomy . Kids can enjoy a growing library of favorites, including Arthur , Wild Kratts , and Dinosaur Train , and families can browse through hundreds of popular movies from Miramax and more.”

Now, the big questions are “Why the Wii?” and “Why now?” According to the press release, Hulu has decided to come to the Wii because of how popular the Wii is in the current gaming generation. Since the Wii is a family hub for entertainment, Hulu just seemed like a natural fit.

Unfortunately, the press release doesn’t have a good answer for “Why now?” The Wii is on the way out and the Wii U will be here later this year. Now, this most likely means that Hulu will be available on the Wii U as well, but still, this decision comes pretty late in the Wii’s lifespan.
