iOS Battlefield Pulled Due To Quality Complaints

None

Battlefield 3: Aftershock was a single-map, multiplayer-only iOS version of EA’s beloved Battlefield 3. It was released earlier this month to rather negative reviews. Fans who downloaded the app complained about connectivity issues, a horrible touch-based control scheme, and general repetitive gameplay. In fact, fans were so vocal that EA took the app off of the App store.

This is what EA had to say about the app’s removal:

EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come to expect from their favorite EA gaming brands. To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we’ve received. We thank all the fans who have downloaded the game to date.

A big-name publisher admitting that they’d released a sub-par product? That’s very respectable of you, EA. It’s nice to see a publisher being so honest with its fan base, and should EA ever decide to release a shooter on the iOS market again, they will most likely put it through more rigorous testing.
