Is “The Dawnguard” Skyrim’s First DLC?

None

A new trademark listing from Zenimax Media may hint at some new content for beloved Bethesda RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The trademark is for “The Dawnguard” and covers “computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices.”

Being that the trademark covers downloadable game software, one can safely assume that this will either be some sort of downloadable standalone title or an expansion pack. Since The Dawnguard name is similar to the name of a cult in the Elder Scrolls universe (The Mythic Dawn), it seems somewhat natural that we are talking about a Skyrim DLC.

However, this is only speculation. It’s entirely possible that the Dawnguard will get a spinoff game of some sort. Bethesda has not yet commented on the trademark listing, so any other details at this point are just guesswork. We will bring you more information on The Dawnguard when it becomes available.
