Killer Instinct Gets New Development Studio

Killer Instinct Gets New Development Studio

Now that Amazon owns Double Helix, their much loved fighting game, the new Killer Instinct , needs a new developer. It’s not like they would be able to work for both Microsoft and Amazon at the same time. Luckily, Microsoft has found an amazing new developer to take over Killer Instinct Season 2 . That developer? Iron Galaxy.

If you don’t know Iron Galaxy then you don’t know fighting games. They are the genius developers behind Divekick , the incredible minimalist fighter where all you can do is dive and kick. They also did many Capcom remakes like Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online, Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, and Darkstalkers Resurrection . Many designers at the studio are longtime fans of fighting games, including CEO Dave Lang. “Before we were ever talking about this, I was a fan of the game. And to get to now take it over and start with this great base, and expand it and put new stuff on top of it, everyone in the company is super pumped up, and we can’t wait to show people what we’re going to be doing down the road,” Lang said.

Killer Instinct Season 1 is just wrapping up with the upcoming release of Fulgore . As for Season 2 , few details have been revealed. We will just have to wait and see. Personally, I hope Cinder comes back.
