People who have been hitting the battlefield will have a reason to report for duty today. Activision and Infinity Ward have just released a massive update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare today. When people download to keep their games up to date, they’ll find a whole new mode and two maps waiting for them to show off their skills in new ways.
The new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare mode is Hardpoint. This is a mode where one team is trying to keep a zone under their control, while another is attempting to take it away. You get points for holding the location. If the other team takes out the team who has that space, they can move in and take it over to try and earn points. While it is new to this installment, it’s actually an old favorite. Most recently, people could play the Hardpoint mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
As for the two maps, they give people new places to visit in two additional modes. If you hop into multiplayer, you can now visit Shoot House. It is a 6v6 map. If you like three-lane maps, this is for you. As for the other, it is called Krovnik Farmland. That is a huge Ground War map filled with, well, lots of farmland.
This is only the first part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’ s additions. As promised by Activision and Infinity Ward ahead of launch, there is no season pass for this installment. Instead, it will be receiving post launch support for free.
