Love’s a Game and this Wedding Proves It

Love’s a Game and this Wedding Proves It

Sometimes, a wedding is about the union of two people truly in love with one another. Other times, it also happens to be about incredibly cool table decorations. Which is the case of the wedding of Ian Merch and Caitlin Lehman. The two are artists, gamers, and generally awesome people who decided to combine all three to create parody boxart to celebrate their special day (also for their guests to fight over, but we’ll get to that).

Merch acquired a number of cheap Genesis and Master System games from a local store. Mostly copies of Madden 93 and 94 , though there were some soccer and golf games milling about. He then created LouBega The Mambo Cartridge and Mambo Drive templates. Merch and Lehman then set about combining their custom, parody designs with the templates, with 12 left on tables to brighten attendees’ days.

Select guests were then allowed to take their favorite box with them as a favor. I was torn between Fortress Tale : Yosai Monogatari and Matron 3 , for example, but eventually settled on the latter. However, Merch later released both the Mambo Drive template

and  and the original designs for all 12 cases on his Tumblr, in the hopes of making the Internet a brighter place.

(And these images certainly make the Internet a brighter place .)

In case you’re now a fan of their work, Lehman contributes content to Cartozia , and Merch is the creator of The Pilotside Chronicle .
