The Greeen Bay Packers are once again recipients of the Vince Lombardi trophy, having won yesterday’s game 31-25 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Steelers’ fans aren’t the only ones left stinging, though, because for the just the second time in seven years, the winner of the Super Bowl was not correctly predicted by EA’s football simulation, Madden.

As predicted by Madden ’11 the Steelers would have won the big game 24-20, with receiver Mike Wallace delivering a five-catch, 111-yard performance. Instead it was the Packers’ Aaron Rogers who put in an outstanding performance, completing five of six passes. Roethlisberger’s three turnovers also probably had something to do with the Packers’ win, as they led directly to twenty-one points for the Packers.
