Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Games Removed from Digital Stores

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Games Removed from Digital Stores

Rumors started spreading that Raven’s classic superhero action-RPGs, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2, were not long for this world. Indeed, in following the usual Activision licensed game precedent, both games were suddenly being offered for a massive discount across every available platform. While no official word came from Activision itself, the games were quietly removed from the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store, and Steam.

The pattern seems to point at Activision’s licensing deals lasting around two years. Several games in the past, Marvel and otherwise, have been removed from digital marketplaces right around the two year mark. This includes Deadpool , Transformers: Devastation , and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD . This holds true regardless of the critical or financial success of these games, and once the sales appeared for the Ultimate Alliance series, the gaming community prepared for the worst. Of course, there are plenty of comments out there showing some people missed out.

The moral of the story is as follows: If you like superhero games or games based on other media properties, snag them at the first sign of a big sale.
