Mass Effect May Get Remastered

Mass Effect May Get Remastered

Do you love the Mass Effect trilogy? Do you wish you could play it again on your Xbox One or PlayStation 4 before Mass Effect Andromeda? Well, you might just get your wish. Despite EA’s COO, Peter Moore, saying the company wasn’t looking at remasters in 2015, the Executive Vice President, Patrick Soderlund, told Game Informer it’s a very real possibility.

Soderlund was specifically asked about remasters in regard to the three Mass Effect games. However, he also addressed the idea of EA remasters in general. Specifically, he said, “I can’t announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done this successfully.” EA apparently can’t ignore other developers and publishers remastering games and making money off of them.

Perhaps the Mass Effect trilogy remaster could be a stopgap? Mass Effect Andromeda won’t be released until March 2017, supposedly. It isn’t being shown at Gamescom 2016 because Soderlund says the company is hoping for the “right type of exposure at the right time.” If there was another delay, the remasters could step in to satisfy the demands of Mass Effect fans. I’d buy it again, to play while I wait.
