Shuhei Yoshida promised to work tirelessly to bring more PS2 games to the PS4, and today we’ve learned that one of the weirdest, ugliest faces in video game history will be making a comeback later this week. I’m talking about Max Payne , of course, which is set to (re)release on April 22. This was the game that sparked the bullet-time trend, and though I never owned it myself, I did spend more time playing the demo that came with a copy of the Official Xbox Magazine than many of you have probably spent playing some JRPGs. I loved it.
Max Payne is the twenty-second PS2 game to make its way to the PS4. All of the games have been pretty good, but there hasn’t been anything released so far that I just had to buy, and even though I loved playing Max Payne when I was younger, I don’t think I loved it enough to spend $10-15 to play it on my PS4. If you’re curious, here’s a look at every PS2 game you can currently purchase and play on PS4:
- Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits
Bully
Dark Cloud
Dark Cloud 2
Fantavision
Grand Theft Auto III
