The UK’s biggest-selling magazine about all thing’s PlayStation, The Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM) has now got a new member among its crew. Announced in a press release today (January 27), OPM now has Matthew Pallett as Editor of the company’s physical magazine, website and digital magazine.
“It’s an honour to become part of PlayStation: The Official Magazine’s family,” Pallette said in a press release. “I’m delighted to join a hugely talented team, and with Sony’s PlayStation 4 deservedly enjoying unprecedented launch window success there has never been a more exciting time than now to work on one of our industry’s best-loved brands.”
Lee Nutter, Head of Games for Future, gave his condoning comment in the same press release, saying, “with the launch of the PS4 last year, this is an extremely exciting time for PlayStation: The Official Magazine. Matthew inherits a brand in rude health and his knowledge and passion make him the ideal candidate to drive the brand forwards.”
Currently the Editor of GamesMaster, Pallette joined Future PLC , the parent company behind a number of videogame magazines and websites, such as GamesMaster, Edge, PC Gamer, and OPM, as a Staff Writer for the now defunct Xbox World 360 back into 2007. Pallette later joined GamesMaster in 2011, and climbed his way up the ladder to Deputy Editor in early 2012, and then Editor in March last year. Palette will take up his new position at OPM on February 10 this year.
