New League of Legends Game Announced
A new League of Legends game called Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is being developed by Airship Syndicate and will be coming to PC as well as the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. The news was officially revealed with a cinematic trailer at the League of Legends World Championship Finals.
We haven’t yet seen any gameplay, but have caught a glimpse of some heroes including Braum and Miss Fortune. The game is expected to be a turn-based RPG.
Recent additions to the franchise, which helped the MOBA genre grow, include the card game, Legends of Runterra, the shooter, Valorant , and an auto battler called Teamfight Tactics . Other titles are in the works, too.
Fortnite Prepared for PS5 and Xbox Series X
Both Fortnite and the next gen consoles will arrive next week. The new version of Fortnite will be ready and enhanced for the next gen.
This includes improvements to the game’s visuals and the ability to run at 4k at frames-per-second on two of the systems, and 1080p at 60 fps on the Xbox Series S. Additionally, the PlayStation 5 version of the game will support the DualSense haptic feedback.
Progress from other generations of Fortnite will carry over to the new platforms.
PSVR is Considered Backwards Compatible at the Moment
Sony has yet to announce any PlayStation 5 games for their PSVR headset. In a statement made to UploadVR, they referred to the headset as a backwards-compatible device.
This means that Hitman 3 , which was advertised as having a PSVR mode, will require the PlayStation 4 version of the game. Additionally, an adaptor will be required to use the PlayStation camera from the PS4 on the PS5 to access VR.
Some games like Hitman 3 and No Man’s Sky , which also has a PSVR mode, will be upgraded to next-gen for free. Just what this means for the virtual reality experience is not yet clear.
