Pokken Tournament is one of those games that no one knows they should be excited about. It’s basically a Tekken fighting game with Pokemon instead of people, and it’s probably going to be the last game we get really excited about on the Wii U besides Zelda . The game has done rather well in arcades across Japan, but has flown under the radar here in the United States, mainly because we have pretty much zero arcade culture left.
We can expect the game to arrive on the Wii U by the end of the year (we don’t have an official release date yet), so that merits getting excited by new character reveals, right?! Pikachu Libre burst onto the scene recently and next Friday another new Pokemon will be revealed for the game, according to the official Japanese Pokken Tournament Twitter account. The post has been flooded with expectations and predictions for which Pokemon is next in line to do battle, but we’ll have to wait until next week to find out for sure!
