Here’s one of those announcements you probably expected. After all, this is EA, so we shouldn’t be surprised that another Battlefield game is on the horizon. The next entry in the series hasn’t been revealed, but it will be released in 2016.
This follows a plan by EA to have at least one major FPS released every year. While Blake Jorgensen, EA’s CFO, referred to Star Wars Battlefront as a core FPS title for 2015, it’s important to note that Battlefield: Hardlne was released on March 15 of this year. So maybe it’s more about multiple FPS games?
This announcement means we’re getting close to a Battlefield release every year. Battlefield: Hardline covered 2015. Battlefield 4 and its five expansions covered 2013 and 2014, Battlefield 3 and its expansions made sure there were new adventures from 2011 to 2012. EA could be copying the Call of Duty plan.
