Nintendo Gives More Details About DS Lite Including New Colors

None

Nintendo has announced that the new DS Lite will be released on March 2 in Japan in three different colors, “crystal white,” “ice blue,” and “enamel navy.”

Nintendo has also announced that the DS Lite will be able to play Game Boy Advance games and that its cartridge slot will be located in the same spot as the original DS. However, the cartridges will stick out one centimeter when in the smaller handheld.

The DS Lite will have four adjustable levels of screen brightness. The maximum brightness will be five times brighter than the original DS. The DS Lite can run 15 to 19 hours on its lowest brightness, 10 to 15 hours on its second level of brightness, 7 to 11 hours on its third level, and 5 to 8 hours on the maximum level. The original DS runs about 6 to 10 hours on a full charge.

The DS Lite will also include a new AC adapter that is not compatible with other Nintendo handhelds, two styluses, a carrying strap, and a plastic dust cover that can snap into the cartridge slot when empty.
