Nintendo Sends Out Super Mario 64 Online Take Downs

Nintendo Sends Out Super Mario 64 Online Take Downs

Fan-made projects are always great, and everyone loves to root for the little guy. Companies will always seek to protect their creations though, as has been proven again by Nintendo. A Mario fan, Kaze Emanuar, has been working relentlessly to mod Super Mario 64 . We first spotted this back in June 2017 when Super Mario Odyssey ‘s capture mechanic was added to Super Mario 64 . More recently, Emanuar made it so many people could play online together .

It was at that moment in time that Nintendo decided enough was enough. A take-down notice has been issued for any Super Mario 64 Online videos. This meant 20 videos were removed, and Emanuar’s Patreon account has also been closed.

In a bizarre twist of fate, Emanuar is remaining steadfast in their opinion that Nintendo can’t do nothing about the mods themselves. Super Mario 64 Online is still available to download. Nintendo could do their best to have this taken down at any time as well though. It remains to be seen whether Emanuar will continue to create mods for Super Mario 64 or not.
