Nintendo Theme Park Trademark Shows Potential Plans

Nintendo Theme Park Trademark Shows Potential Plans

We’ve known for a while that Nintendo and Universal have partnered up for an upcoming theme park project. But now, thanks to a trademark filing, we have our first look at what may be in store for Nintendo and theme park fans. The trademark, filed on May 24, 2017, is for something called Super Nintendo World. Sounds like a theme park already, right?

The application is full of “Goods & Services,” many based around “amusement park and amusement part events” categories. A report at GameSpot points out the trademark filing refers to “amusement park shows and special events at an amusement park” as well as “organization, management, or arrangement of kart racing.” We don’t need to spell out what that means for a Nintendo-themed amusement park.

Additional bits and pieces include “video game apparatus” and “amusement machines and apparatus for use in amusement parks other than arcade video game machines.” Things like hotel accommodation services, restaurant services, event venue rental, and other logistical ventures are also part of the filing.

Nintendo’s theme park has already confirmed to be part of Universal’s Orlando, Hollywood, and Osaka locations. No announcements have been made, but the trademark filing seems specific enough to contain several different kinds of hints.
