After the success of Skylanders and Disney Infinity , it’s no wonder that more companies want to get into the near field action figure business. The latest company to get in on the craze is Nintendo, who has announced that they will be producing their own line of near field figures. The figures will be able to interact with multiple different Nintendo games. For example, the Mario figure could produce effects in both Smash Bros. for the Wii U, New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the DS, and even Mario Party across both consoles. It would also be able to hold saves for specific games, allowing you to take your data to a friend’s house.
Unfortunately, that’s all the data we have on these figurines as it stands now. We will likely get even more information about them when we visit the Nintendo booth at E3 this year.
