No Peace For Vita?

No Peace For Vita?

None

In a press release sent out today on behalf of Konami, the Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection has been confirmed for North America. The same press release also confirms the implementation of “transfarring,“ previously solely used to move save data between the PlayStation 3’s version of the collection and the PSP version of Peace Walker, for Metal Gear Solids 2 and 3.

Unfortunately, the press release also confirms that Peace Walker HD will not be part of the Vita version of the collection. This is particularly frustrating since that PSP version of the game is still unavailable from the Vita’s digital storefront, making it impossible to carry the entire collection with you on one system. The lack of current PSOne Classic support on the Vita also blocks it from playing the first Metal Gear Solid, making this two-game bundle decision a particularly perplexing one, especially since it is expected to retail at the same price as its three-game console counterparts.

There is, as of yet, no specific release date for the collection, though the press release cites a “summer” launch.
