Notch Crazy For Psychonauts Sequel

Notch Crazy For Psychonauts Sequel

None

Markus “Notch” Persson is a self-made millionaire and legend. His creation, Minecraft, isn’t so much a game as a phenomenon, a game that actively engages the imaginations of its players. It seems fitting, then, that he would take an interest in Psychonauts, the one-off Double Fine production from the twisted mind of Tim Schafer that followed a fledgling psychic, on the lam from the circus, at a summer camp for those with such mental abilities. Fans have been clamoring for a sequel to the under-appreciated cult title for years. Now, Notch has joined their ranks.

The difference being, he’s willing to bankroll the venture.

In a tweet directed at Tim Schafer, Notch has expressed his desire to fund a Psychonauts sequel, further asserting that he is completely serious about this. Further, Schafer has taken notice, confirming that he is aware of the offer, though there’s, as of yet, no concrete response from him one way or the other.

Regardless, this is closer than we’ve ever gotten before to a Psychonauts follow-up, so excuse us if we’re getting a little misty-eyed at Notch’s magnanimous gesture.
