Oculus Rift Pre-orders Finally Filled

Oculus Rift Pre-orders Finally Filled

OK, so the Oculus Rift was released on March 28, 2016. Except people who pre-ordered the VR headset weren’t getting it. Instead, they were hit with unexpected delay messages and had no idea when they’d see their peripherals. Well, it’s been almost four months since the official debut, and Oculus has finally shipped all the pre-order units. Let’s give them a nice, slow clap.

On the plus side, this means that new Oculus Rift orders are shipping more promptly too. You can’t get them overnight, but the current estimate is two to four business days. Which is a little unfortunate. You expect better, you know?

Maybe we’ll hear about an improved commitment to prompt deliveries at Oculus Connect 3? It’s a developer conference that will be held October 5-7 in San Jose. If you’re still on the fence about VR, it might be wise to wait until after the event to decide which headset to get!
