Patch Saves Unreal Tournament 3 From GameSpy Shutdown

Patch Saves Unreal Tournament 3 From GameSpy Shutdown

Like how Bungie’s Halo: Combat Evolved received an official patch from the developer itself to save the game’s multiplayer from the shutdown of GameSpy, Epic Games’ Unreal Tournament 3 has been migrated to new servers now that the service has closed.

Thanks to a collaboration between Unreal Tournament 3 community member Shambler and Epic Games, an official patch will now direct players to the game’s new servers. Additionally, the patch is also compatible with the Steam version of Unreal Tournament 3 , according to Polygon.

The patch itself, which can be found via the official Epic Games website , was tested by server admins and other community members before it was released on Saturday, May 31. You will also find the installation instructions alongside the patch’s download link.

A bunch of Electronic Arts’ titles have also been affected by the GameSpy shutdown–titles like Crysis, Battlefield 2 and some Command & Conquer games will now have their respective multiplayer modes made inert.
