One of gaming’s worst kept secrets at the moment involves Plants vs. Zombies . EA is working on a new installment in the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare series. Now, lots of little details trickling out are painting a better picture of what people can expect from the game. For instance, it is ditching the “ Garden Warfare” part of the name and will go by Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville instead.
Things kicked off with invites to a closed alpha referred to as Picnic. It ended up taking part on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, giving people who signed an NDA an opportunity to test out the game and see some of the initial character classes. Details did leak from this portion, which resulted in confirmation of characters like Pea Shooter, Sunflower and Foot Soldier returning. Then, there was a EUIPO rating that revealed Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville’ s name.
Most recently, there was a leak that possibly involved EA. The actual Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville announcement trailer appeared online. While it doesn’t show final gameplay, it does have animated characters and a jaunty theme song that introduces characters like Acorn and Corn. It also shows Pea Shooter and Ninja Mushroom. Toward the second half, people get to see some temporary game footage that shows the plants and zombies facing off in a neighborhood environment.
Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville will be the third entry in the Garden Warfare series, which has actually been quite well received over the years.
