PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds May Come to More Consoles

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a super popular game right now. It’s an all out murder-fest of a game that has been sucking in fans since its Early Access release on Steam three months ago. Right now, it actually has the honor of holding the fourth most-played game on Steam. Above it are DOTA 2 , Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , and Payday 2 . PlayerUnknown had some numbers to back up its popularity recently. It would seem the game has sold four million copies since launch.

The developer appeared during the PC Gaming Show at E3 recently and got fans of the game excited about some new fixes coming. One that I found hilarious, but was corrected by a friend as being a seriously big deal, was vaulting. You’ll now be able to vault over fences, rather than being mercilessly stuck behind them. PlayerUnknown had many other changes he was excited about sharing, and there are sure to be more in the future. But the biggest has to do with the game’s range.

It’s all about the console releases now. It’s already been announced that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be launching on Xbox One. In 2017, it will be added to Xbox One Game Preview. It will have a full release sometime in 2018. One news junction listed PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as an Xbox One exclusive, at which point the developer Bluehole Studios reached out to correct this. They didn’t explicitly state the the game would be coming to PlayStation 4 or otherwise, but they did want to make it clear that they are always looking at other consoles for a potential PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds release.
