Playful Corp Developing Oculus Rift Exclusive

If you’ve ever whiled away the many boring hours sitting at the bus stop or on a long plane ride with Words With Friends , you may soon find the need to start lugging your Oculus Rift headset with you soon.

Paul Bettner recently stated that his company (Playful Corp) has partnered with newly acquired Facebook property Oculus, and would have a new interactive game entitled Lucky’s Tale on-hand at this year’s E3. Touting VR’s latest influence on the industry, Bettner says “Virtual reality…is the most important thing to happen to…entertainment in decades. I know it sounds like exaggeration, but it’s impossible to explain what this is like to someone who hasn’t experienced it for themselves. Your brain is convinced that you are somewhere else, that you are in another world. I have worked my entire career to get to this moment, to create something like this.”

And what better place to showcase new and exciting frontiers in our industry than at E3? In just a few days, much of what will fill the headlines of gaming websites across the web will come out of the LA convention. With Oculus being bought out by Facebook for an estimated $2 billion dollars, this year will be quite a different showing for the virtual reality project. However, Oculus VR publishing boss David De Martini says he’s looking forward to the public getting their next peak behind the curtain, stating they are, “…committed to bringing the best and most innovative content from developers large and small to our new platform. We are delighted with our new partnership with Playful.”

We’ll bring you the latest from E3 2014 as it breaks. Be sure to check back here for CheatCC’s coverage of the event.
