Pokemon SoulSilver Cheats & Cheat Codes for Nintendo DS

Pokémon SoulSilver is one of many Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS. It is a sequel to the many Pokémon games before it. The game was released simultaneously with Pokémon HeartGold. It was initially released in 2009 by developer Game Freak. The previous release in the series was Pokémon Platinum, released in 2008. The game can connect to, battle, and trade with other players through the Nintendo Wifi Connection. The game’s story, play, and goals are similar to previous main Pokémon games.

Pokémon SoulSilver Premise

Pokemon SoulSilver gameplay

Pokémon SoulSilver and HeartGold are remakes of the original Pokémon Silver and Gold released on the Game Boy Color as part of Pokémon‘s Gen II. As a remake, SoulSilver has all the Pokémon from the original game as well as a few extras unique to the new version. The total Pokédex for the two games contains 493 different Pokémon to obtain. SoulSilver also allows players to visit regions from previous games and see how things have changed in the story since the earlier games.

Pokémon SoulSilver is just like many other Pokémon games. The player starts as a young trainer who receives their first Pokémon and sets out to become the greatest Pokémon trainer. Players catch, raise, and train the wild monsters that roam the game. In this game, the goal is to compete and win the Johto and Kanto Leagues, which are similar competitions in the regions. There are eight Pokémon gyms and gym leaders in each region to defeat.

After besting a gym leader, you receive a badge. After earning all eight badges, you face the Elite Four in Johto and then the champion, Lance. Afterward, you move to the Kanto region and similarly defeat eight gym leaders before moving on to the game’s final champion, Red. Along the way, you can try to collect the entire massive set of Pokémon that exist in the regions between Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver. They must also best their rival, Silver, multiple times, who is also competing to win the Leagues. Team Rocket stands in your way and causes general trouble for everyone in the region.

Pokémon SoulSilver Main Characters

Pokemon SoulSilver character artwork

Ethan/Lyra: The main character and hero of Pokémon SoulSilver. They are a young person interested in Pokémon that runs an errand for Professor Elm. To stay safe during the trip, they get to choose one of three Pokémon to take with them. On the way, they meet Professor Oak, who gives them a Pokédex. After the errand, they get to keep the Pokémon, learn of the Johto League, and begin their journey toward it.

Professor Elm: The lead Pokémon scientist and source of knowledge in the Johto region. He is an older professor who always wears a lab coat. The professor specializes in Pokémon breeding and Pokémon evolution research. Throughout the game, he provides the player with items and tips for their journey.

Team Rocket: The enemy organization in many of the Generation 1 Pokémon games. The player last saw and beat them in 2004’s Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. They are back and trying to regain their previous glory and rule the Pokémon world.

Silver: Ethan or Lyra’s rival. He is a young Pokémon trainer similar to Ethan or Lyra

Lance: The Champion of the Indigo Plateau. Lance is a famous Pokémon trainer and a hero. He runs into the player multiple times in the game and helps battle Team Rocket. He is the champion the player must face at the end of the game after beating the Elite Four. Lance mainly uses Dragon-type Pokémon.

Games in the Pokémon Series

There are many Pokémon games across multiple generations of hardware. The series is currently 27 years old and still going strong. While most games follow a similar format, some versions break the mold but still maintain the world and rules of the Pokémon world.

The main games in the Pokémon series include:

Pokémon SoulSilver Cheat FAQs

How do I turn off enabled cheats?

Simply turning off an active cheat should turn it off. Consequently, if this doesn’t work properly, save your game, then try disabling the cheat anyway and completely closing your game. Then restart the game and load your in-game save.

Are hacked Pokémon illegal?

Yes, they are illegal to use in online play. They are perfectly fine for your solo game. Still, they can cause you trouble or disciplinary action online or in multiplayer modes.
