No one could’ve expected a Pokemon fighting game to be as impactful and successful as Pokken Tournament. The fighting game involves two Pokemon battling with gameplay shifting between the arena battler-esque “Field Phase” and the 3D Fighter-esque “Duel Phase” mechanics. It wasn’t only a new direction for the Pokemon IP but it was also a new twist on fighting games. The game arrived to the support of many fans. Specifically with the console version, the reviews were mostly positive and the game was nominated for Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards 2016.

Pokken Tournament Premise
This title is built around action and the interaction between the 23 playable characters. The characters all have unique movesets and special moves pulled from the mainline Pokemon games. On top of the player choosing a Pokemon to play as they also use a Pokemon for support to give them buffs and other benefits. This approach to the 2v2 fighting game makes the game stand out amongst other fighters. Whether you like it or not, Pokken Tournament is a unique experience.

Unlockables
Iron League
Defeat Glenn in the Chroma League Champion Battle and watch the ending credits to have Mia tell you about a secret league called the “Iron League”. Enter it to face the Top 8 trainers and battle the Grand Master.
Lucky Bonus
Scan up to five different Amiibos at the main menu map screen to get a Lucky Bonus. This can be done once per day, after midnight. Note: The Shadow Mewtwo card will not count the first time it is scanned.
Partner Pokemon Ribbons
After your Partner Pokemon reaches certain Skill Levels, Ribbons will appear on their pictures when you look at the Details in the Menu, your information in My Town, and on their icons in the Character Select Screen.
