Project Spark Enters Xbox One Open Beta

Project Spark Enters Xbox One Open Beta

Having been in Closed Beta over the duration of February , Team Dakota’s Project Spark for Xbox One has finally entered Open Beta, as was announced to GameSpot b y Microsoft yesterday (March 4, Tuesday).

For those who don’t know, Project Spark is a sandbox game-within-a-game, where you can create your own games and/or movies, and try out community-made things as well. Similar to From Dust , you can construct, destruct, morph and change the terrain to your liking. Unlike From Dust though, you can utilize Project Sparks capabilities to create your own mini-game, complete with enemies and objectives to name a few.

Sign-ups for the Xbox One Open Beta are made via Team Dakota’s website here . However, if you were already a part of Project Spark’s Windows 8.1 Beta, you will be given automatic access to the Xbox One Beta. That means users with one Beta key will be able to use that key between the Xbox One and the Windows 8.1 versions of Project Spark .

It currently unknown if a Beta will be available on the Xbox 360. Additionally, Project Spark also features cross-platform support, which means you can create something in Project Spark on Windows 8.1 and then later continue that creation on your Xbox On, and / or vise versa.

It’s been reported that some users are experiencing problems when registering their codes to play Project Spark on their Xbox Ones. Team Dakota have put together a set of instructions in response to this on its blog here .

Project Spark has been slated for a 2014 spring release for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC (Windows 8.1).
