PS4 Update 1.61 Improves System Stability

PS4 Update 1.61 Improves System Stability

Confirmed by PlayStation Europe community manager Chris Owen via Twitter , this upcoming mandatory update will provide general system enhancements to make the PlayStation 4’s operating system more stable, mainly by fixing stuff in the back door. The update itself will be dropping today (February 18).

“PS4 firmware v1.61 is now live (mandatory) and provides general enhancements to the PS4 system’s stability,” Owen tweeted. “It’s a very minor update fixing mainly back end stuff,” he continued.

It’s been just over a couple of weeks now since the PlayStation 4 received its 1.60 system update , which allowed for compatibility of Sony’s PULSE wireless headset line-up, as well as its new wireless headset, the Gold Wireless Headset .

It was recently reported that the online UK branch of GameStop is selling PlayStation 4 consoles at £20 cheaper than the console’s Recommended Retail Price of £349, or your regional equivalent. The deal comes with a bog standard bundle of the console itself and one DualShock 4 controller.
