Classic Nintendo title Punch-Out!! is going to be arriving on Switch systems everywhere very soon. It’s going to be featured as the most recent Arcade Archives title in the Nintendo Switch eShop. It’s arrival will be happening on March 30, 2018. At that time retro fans will be able to relive the glory days of becoming a boxing champion.
If you recall, Punch-Out!! was originally a simple arcade game. It was then adapted for the SNES, and has seen various other versions since then. The Switch version of Punch-Out!! hearkens back to those early days and keeps the same look and feel from the original arcade title. Arcade go-ers will remember that the Punch-Out!! cabinet had two screens, one to display the action, and another to show stats like the score, and how much time is remaining. The Switch version will have that same layout, but players can also choose to display the screens side by side horizontally.
It’s a good day to be a retro gaming fan, and hopefully the Switch will offer classic Punch-Out!! up to a whole new generation of gamers.
