Look, it’s not like the first Record of Agarest War was a completely innocent ordeal. The Xbox 360 Collector’s edition included a mouse-pad that used a character’s ample bosom as a wrist-rest and a pillow case with one of the title’s generically cutesy anime girls plastered against a purple background. The prequel, Record of Agarest War Zero, was much more reserved, with its deck of playing cards, soundtrack, and Character Data Guide. In what might be a knee-jerk response, though, Idea Factory’s PlayStation 3-exclusive Record of Agarest War 2 is ramping things up to eleven, with a limited edition that includes not only an artbook (“Heroic Trials from the Lands of Agarest”), but an inflatable model of cat-girl character Felenne and an 8”x12” hand-towel compressed into a heart, featuring a surprised looking anime girl’s face.
