I don’t think the world was ready for the Resident Evil Outbreak series and some naysayers would say that Capcom wasn’t prepared for it either. The first entry in the series was considered competent but nothing to write home about, while Resident Evil Outbreak: File 2 did a tad worse commercially. Resident Evil Outbreak: File 2 Premise
File 2 is slightly different from the rest of the Resident Evil series. Upon starting the title you are given a few choices. First, you must select one of five scenarios to play through. Next, you’ll choose a difficulty setting. This affects enemy AI as well as items that can be found. Finally, you’ll select a character to play as.
The actual gameplay of the game starts once these decisions are made. There are four players in online play or one player with two AI partners when playing offline. The characters are all infected with the T-virus and must work together to complete the scenario before the virus takes over. If a player succumbs to the virus online they become an enemy that can attack other players.
