Resident Evil Producer and Mega Man Creator Join to Create New Game

Capcom has announced that it will be developing a new sci-fi action game for the Xbox 360 called Lost Planet: Extreme Condition.

Keiji Inafune, the creator of the Onimusha amd Mega Man series will be the executive producer for the game and Jun Takeuchi, the producer of the Resident Evil series will be producing the game. Kenji Ohguro and Shin Kurosawa will be co-producing the game. Ohguro worked as a planner for Onimusha and Onimusha 3. Kurosawa has worked on the Mega Man Battle Network series.

The game is set after mankind has survived a frozen world by wearing protective Vital Suits. Yet, Eigrids, frightening native monsters, inhabit the world and force mankind to live in fear. Players take the role of Wayne, a man who was discovered frozen in a vital suit. Wayne suffers from amnesia and can only remember that an Eigrid killed his father.

The game will be a first-person shooter with action elements. Inafune has commented that the game is being designed with Xbox Live in mind. The main character is being modeled after Korean star Lee Byung-Hun.

You can expect this game to release in the winter of 2006.
